In terms of education, I have been combining philological studies with practical application whilst teaching English for three years, at one of the best universities in the field in Poland. I subsequently graduated and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Warsaw in 2004. I then continued my higher education in the UK and in 2006 I was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics by Cambridge Anglia Ruskin University. In 2011 I obtained a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI).
In my working life, although interpreting and translating have always been a lifelong ambition, my career has taken a different direction and for several years I worked in financial services . As a result, I have an inside knowledge of the world of finance with elements of law and accountancy, which becomes useful when being involved in clients’ various legal and financial matters and dealing with third parties, i.e. solicitors, accountants, insurers, trustees and investment houses. It proved a great foundation for studying for the Law option of the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting, which enables me to work with local authorities, as well as the courts and police.
I am a full time Polish interpreter and translator with good grounding in the British culture, and understanding of both worlds of business and public services in the UK. I pride myself in delivering high quality language services face-to-face and indirectly, using available technology.
